3 Fun Nontraditional Ways to Organize & Display Your Jewelry

If you are a jewelry addict like me, you may struggle to keep it all organized and to find just the right piece when you need it.  After all, a girl has got to have the perfect jewelry to complete every outfit, right? 😉

Although regular jewelry boxes and chests are functional and great for your fine jewelry, why not have some fun and do something a little nontraditional for your fashion jewelry?

There are so many beautiful and creative ways to display your jewelry that also reflect your personal style and home decor.

Tip #1- Go Green

An easy DIY solution is to cut down a beautiful tree branch (or buy one) and “plant it” in a stylish pot that matches your decor.

You can choose a large branch that is a statement piece in your home and perfect for longer pieces like necklaces and body chain jewelry, or a small one to sit on your dresser for your earrings and bracelets.

Just be sure to choose one with sturdy enough branches to hold the jewelry.

Tip #2- Shop Handmade

If DIY in not your style, there are many beautiful handmade jewelry displays available.  Visit your local artisan boutique, or check out Etsy for some fab finds like the ones below.

We love the decorative detail and shabby chic style of this scroll-work frame display, handmade by Southern Woods Style.  The mesh screen is perfect for earrings and the bar is perfect for bracelets, handpieces and necklaces.

We love the functionality and beautiful green color of this large display, handmade by Black Forest Cottage.  That’s a lot of jewelry in one display- and they repurposed an old drawer to create it so it’s green and “green”!

Tip #3: Go Shopping

Stores like Home Goods and TJ Maxx have some beautiful jewelry display organizers these days.

I also encourage you to think outside the box a little and repurpose other objects as jewelry displays.  My favorite items to do this with are photo holders, like this one from Pier 1 Imports.  Turn it on its side and either mount it to the wall, or hang it from decorative lantern stands as I’ve done in my studio.

Each piece of jewelry you own is like a miniature work of art.  One of the great things about fashion jewelry is that it is not as susceptible to tarnish as Sterling Silver and other metals, so why not have some fun and creatively display it in your home?

What do you think?

I’d love to hear how you display your jewelry.  Please share your comments below.
